A venue for young people of culturally diverse backgrounds ages 6-14 to express their creativity through the arts and culture. Extraordinary experiences that educate, challenge and inspire young people. A non-profit 501c3 organization, established in the Fall of 2002 by its Founder, Aida Rentas and volunteers.
Our Vision…
To provide support for young people and a venue for their creative expression. To create an urban cultural center for young people and their families; arts and culture is the centerpiece; out of which emerge programs, activities celebrating diverse art forms, ideas and cultures.

We value young peopleĀ and believe they can transform our world and make it a better place to live. We embrace and celebrate the uniqueness of each student, their imagination, candor and creativity. Mentoring of young people is a key component of Grass Roots Institute. Young people will build bridges and connect us with diverse cultures and communities
Our Goal…
To provide programming such as: Workshops, teaching etiquette, health awareness, nutrition, goal setting, and non-traditional trades. Promote academic excellence through tutoring with reading, writing, math, languages and computer skills. Arts & Culture, enriching and enhancing our young people lives.. Puppetry, Poetry, Music, Jewelry Making, Photography, Video Production, Pottery, Sculpturing, Creative Writing, Hair Braiding and Quilting.
